Kids Flying Day at Aerobility

On Friday 14th August we had a fun packed day of activities with Kids Berkshire at Aerobility, Blackbushe.

The 10 children and their carers enjoyed model making, buggy rides, aircraft tours and instructed simulator sessions with our team of volunteers and instructors.

Despite the awful weather the rain cleared up just in time to allow us to fly everyone at the end of the day!

Aerobility fly into action at Liverpool Airport

Despite the horrible weather, a fantastic day of flying was had by all last Wednesday when we teamed up with Ravenair to provide Heswall Disabled Children's Holiday Fund an action packed Aerobility Flying day at Liverpool Airport.

31 children with varying disabilities enjoyed the day which included flying, model making and instructed simulator sessions.

We would like to thank Liverpool Airport & Ravenair for helping us make the day happen and look forward to hosting the day again next year.

Help for Heroes Hidden Wounds support expands

In the same way that anyone can get aches, pains or colds, everyone can have days where they feel stressed, worried or down. Help for Heroes Hidden Wounds is a psychological wellbeing service developed to arm individuals with the skills to understand and manage many of these emotions in everyday situations.

We’re delighted that the service has expanded and is now also up and running in Phoenix House, Catterick, following its success at Tedworth House Recovery Centre in Wiltshire.

This has made it even more accessible to Veterans and Armed Forces families, who are now able to receive free and confidential support by phone, Skype or face to face at either of these two Recovery Centres. A dedicated Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner (PWP) will help Hidden Wounds beneficiaries discover the tools needed to get back to enjoying everyday life.

Help for Heroes encourage anyone in need of support either for themselves or a loved one, to take the first step by getting in touch with the Hidden Wounds team, weekdays 9am-5pm:
Email: hidden.wounds@helpforheroes.org.uk
Tel: 0808 2020 144 (free from UK landlines)
