Following another 90+ turnout last year, we are once again returning to the Lasham Gliding Club on Monday 12th March 2018.  Doors open at 1700 and the Gliding Club Café will remain open serving simple but adequate hot meals until 1830.
The bar will open around 1700....
Programme starts at 1900.
Entry fee (payable on the evening) is £5.
This year we have a special presentation “My Office at 60,000 feet’ with thanks to former Concorde Captain Tim Orchard as part of our programme.
With Al Carter and a selection of his stories, some new pictures, the usual news and banter there should be something for everyone!
Thanks to Ian Haskell, Tom Singfield and Simon Newbold we have another batch of Heathrow photographs collected over the years. Ian will be driving the digi projector. Sound system courtesy of Rog Kunert as usual.
The Gliding Club has a few basic rooms available at £20 room only for a single and £40 room only for a double for anyone who wants to stay over. Contact Sharon at Lasham Gliding 01256 384900 to book...

BWPA

The BWPA Easy PPL Ground School Scholarship 2018

The BWPA is very pleased to be able to award up to two ‘Easy PPL Ground School’ Scholarships to female pilots, for study in 2018, kindly donated by Nigel Willson of ‘easypplgroundschool.com’. All applicants must be members (associate or family members) of the BWPA at the time of application and on the closing date (31st January 2018). In addition, the applicant must also have registered and activated an account (FREE OF CHARGE) at https://easypplgroundschool.com prior to submission of the BWPA scholarship application form. BWPA membership is not restricted to UK citizens or residents. Full details of membership are available from our website (http://bwpa.co.uk).

These scholarships are available to new and inexperienced pilots (who must have less than 10 hours total logged flying time at application), towards gaining their PPL(A) ground school qualifications. The applicant must not have attempted any of the CAA Theoretical Knowledge exams prior to application, and must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application (there is no upper age limit).
The scholarship covers a full on-line subscription to all nine PPL(A) Theoretical Knowledge courses, access to Ground School Instructor support, on-line in-course tests and on-line CAA format mock examinations for a full eighteen month period. In the event of failing to complete the required theoretical examinations within the eighteen month period, the candidate may purchase further subscription periods for any subject(s) from Easy PPL Ground School via the normal method on a personal basis at the rate advertised on the site.
The two scholarships will be awarded to the applicants who, in the opinion of the selection panel (representative members of BWPA and Easy PPL) show the most promise of becoming successful pilots. Application forms are available on the BWPS website. (www.bwpa.co.uk)

Happy New Year

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year from Aerobility.

2018 sees our 25th anniversary and what a journey it's been so far!
From humble beginnings back in 1993 to our current fleet of 5 aircraft with a head office at Blackbushe, the addition of a dedicated classroom and shop last year, our building a plane project, disabled flying facilities from both Tatenhill and Liverpool and our most successful Aviators Ball to date in 2017. Nearly 1000 disabled people per year are participating with Aerobility.

We are planning a year of 25 events, that's something for everybody! We would like to celebrate our flyers, to thank our volunteers and to hopefully top last year's incredible fundraising year.

Please watch this space for more details of all the events and how to get involved.
